Here we ask for your help.
The Comics Grid is a non-profit and open-access online academic journal. We are an educational project reaching hundreds of academics, students and serious enthusiasts of comic art. We function as a collaborative research and publishing organisation. We are dedicated to the study of graphic storytelling and the advancement of comics scholarship. We support and encourage Open Access and the academic recognition of digital scholarship. The journal is archived by the UK Web Archive.
We are working towards becoming a sustainable academic publishing and networking platform. Considerable specialised expertise and working hours are invested daily in ensuring we reach our goals.
Our guiding principles seek to empower scholars interested in comics and other related forms of graphic and/or visual storytelling to become fluent in online publication and dissemination strategies, with the aim of producing research in tune with 21st century literacies and channels of scholarly communications.
We rely on the kind support of both individuals and institutions to do this.
We welcome financial contributions from both individuals and institutions. Sponsors are acknowledged in our website and related publications, and if requested we reciprocate by hosting banners on our sidebar and promoting their initiatives through our social media and public engagement strategy. We accept donations (every little helps!) via Flattr:
We will be happy to provide readership and impact statistics to serious interested parties. For more information, please contact us.
