Manuel Hernández-Pérez received his Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Murcia, Spain in 2004. Two years later, he obtained his bachelor Degree in Advertising and Public Relations while he was conducting a research focused on the arousal-program content interaction of films in the Department of Psychology. He has also been visitor researcher in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and The University of Edinburgh where he has conducted research about Narrative, Psychology and Media reception.
In his professional career, he has worked with many agents in the media sphere such as foundations, TV channels and producer houses.
From 2012 to 2013 he has worked as a Lecturer in the Catholic University of Valencia ‘San Vicente Mártir’ where he taught seminaries about the relationships between Psychology and Media Production.
In July 2013, he completed all postdoctoral lecturing qualifications for Information Management at the University of Murcia with the presentation of his Doctoral Thesis named “Cross-Media Narrative in the Context of the Japanese Entertainment Industry. Manga, Anime and Videogames”. Shortly after, in October 2013, he joined University of Hull as a lecturer in Digital Media, being assigned to the School of Arts and New Media (SANM).
