<p>This is a retraction notice for the article: Ghebache, I., (2026) &#8220;Distorted Reflections: Identity and the Fact/Fiction Divide in Chuck Palahniuk&#8217;s Fight Club 2 (2015)&#8221;, The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship 15(1). doi: <ext-link ext-link-type="uri" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.25840">https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.25840</ext-link>, included in the journal&#8217;s Special Collection: Graphic Biographical Fiction.</p>

<body>
<p>The Editors have retracted and removed the following article: Ghebache, I., (2026) &#8220;Distorted Reflections: Identity and the Fact/Fiction Divide in Chuck Palahniuk&#8217;s Fight Club 2 (2015)&#8221;, The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship 15(1). doi: <ext-link ext-link-type="uri" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.25840">https://doi.org/10.16995/cg.25840</ext-link>, included in the journal&#8217;s <ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://www.comicsgrid.com/collections/1778/">Special Collection: Graphic Biographical Fiction</ext-link>.</p>
<p>It was brought to our attention, and further substantiated by a post-publication investigation, that the article contained a significant number of incorrect and/or false/fabricated references. The publisher and the editors agreed the author response did not adequately explain the issues detailed in the investigation report.</p>
<p>The false/fabricated citations were misleading and having them available would serve to further disseminate those inaccuracies. The editors and the publisher did not have confidence in the reliability of the article, hence its removal.</p>
<p>We have been informed in our decision-making by the <ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://www.openlibhums.org/site/publisher-policies/">Open Library of Humanities policies</ext-link> and <ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://publicationethics.org/guidance/guideline/retraction-guidelines">COPE guidelines</ext-link> on retractions and removals.</p>
